Did you think the FOReVER party is nearing the end of its long saga? WRONG! The new website design is ready and we’re looking forward to all of you, your scene works, the best computers ever and all the fun!
I can’t help myself: here’s a little note about this year’s party. We all feel we’re getting older and many things don’t run as smoothly as eighteen years ago, when the first FOReVER party had been held. When I was visiting Trencin for the first time in 2000, I couldn’t imagine I will spend every third weekend of March around here for the following 18 years, even in a dream. Since I was asked to maintain the new (this one) website, I could barely imagine how such an organiser job works and how hard is to fit into the existing organisation team with their unwritten habits. Anyway, after the second year of my intrusion I can say I have understood the former organiser’s workflow and I can see things which were invisible for me in the past. Therefore, I must write this kinda personal article and say a big THANK YOU to all the people involved in the fluent organisation of the FOReVER party, namely pol/pht for doing a lot various operative stuff during the party, Bob!k and friends for taking over the Atari compo team and making the original Raster’s Atari presentation system happen, Wotnau/DMA and JtR/DMA/PTV for perfect MCing, thinking up new ideas ‘on the fly’ and being nice to me, TDM/H-PRG for managing the whole audio system, PulkoMandy for his huge help with filling the mute space by playing CPC demos and having cool seminars and an amazing gaming compo, PCH/Unreal and his family for ensuring the catering stand and bringing the kids to the use of the 8-bitters, mike/zt and ellvis/zt for doing amazing job on organising ZX and Other 8-bit sections, cvm/zt for providing the Eternity awards and Reekol/Crest^React for doing the graphics stuff again. Last but not least, the Polish Hacker Atari Team for hacking this stupid website (but please, don’t do it again) and consequently having so much fun at the party place. Also greetings and wishing all the best to XI/Satantronic, who successfully survived his health problem \o/. Thanks to all visitors for coming, especially those who came from the far Russia, the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Sweden (hi Sad!) etc.
Keep the demoscene spirit alive!
We’re starting today! The doors will open at about noon and the deadlines are set on this hour as well. We’re looking forward to you at the party place in Horná Súča. Please check the travelling page to avoid problems. Don’t forget yourselves and a good mood at home ‘coz you’d miss a lot of fun!
IMPORTANT! For all who want to connect their computers to the bigscreen and the audio system at the party (i.e. if you have a seminar or a presentation).
Please have your audio cables at least 2m long ending with CINCH (RCA) MALE type connectors (1 cinch for mono, 2 cinches for stereo) or have appropriate adapters with you! We don’t supply these cables/adapters, we’ve enough for ourselves but no spare ones. Thank you for your cooperation and see you at the party!
Compos are the main events of each demoparty. At Forever, there’s no difference. We appreciate all your demoscene production.
As the 1k intros play a significant role in Forever compos, here is the recapitulation of last year 1k winners. We’re looking forward to your 2017 1k 8-bit intros! Please don’t miss the deadlines. However, if you plan to finish your work at the party, we might turn a blind eye and take your prod, if it’s supplied in a reasonable time before the compos.
Where to submit your production? Take a look at the corresponding compo page.
The next cool set of photos from krupkaj is on his photo gallery.
Here are videos of the opening ceremony and prize giving ceremony. The prize giving ceremony videos have been cut due to a camera 20 minutes recording limitation. We still hope you may enjoy the atmosphere at least a little.
To shorten your waiting for the final releases you can look at the set of photos from the party taken by Factor6.
Dear sceners, you can find the incomplete results in the Results menu. I still wait for full C64 and Atari results as well as the Realtime Compo results. The page will be updated when I receive these data. The downloads will be available later.
Everyone’s waiting for the final results. The prizegiving ceremony should start today, at 10:00 am. We’ll try our best to publish the results as soon as possible, but it depends on certain people how soon they’ll be able to provide them. Party entries downlads should be available later today or during next week. Meanwhlile, you can look at the compo machines desk from yesterday’s compos.
