Eternity and the Raster(‘s) Award – the two main prizes at Forever

MAIN PRIZE

THE ETERNITY AWARD

eternityGiven every year to the contribution – whether it’s a demo, graphics, music, intro, realtime, or wild entry – that fits the topic and the atmosphere of the party best. It’s awarded by a jury consisting of Forever organizers. The name of the award is (surprise, surprise) derived from the name of the party.

SPECIAL PRIZE

THE RASTER(‘S) AWARD

rasterThe Raster Award (or Raster’s Award, the official name isn’t settled yet) goes to the author(s) of the funniest intelligent contribution to the party, to someone who can make us laugh in the same spirit as Raster had been doing until his untimely demise in 2011. It doesn’t have to be a compo entry, but it has to be creative; in 2015, the award went to Gemba Boys for coding a presentation system for the C=64 section in ZX Basic during the music compos. If there’s not such a contribution in a given year, no problem, the prize is not awarded.

REGULAR COMPO WINNERS

Winners of the regular compos at Forever get a Forever T-shirt with a specific design related to the year’s theme.

WALKING ENCYCLOPEDIA OF 8-BIT GAMING

The WEo8BG is a title given to the winner of a regular 8-bit-knowledge-based quiz. While the other quizzes and non-regular competitions are usually crazy (and together called “The Crazy Compos”), this one focuses on the 8-bit lore. The Walking Encyclopedia gets the same T-shirt as the winners of the regular compos!
